Color, without the mystique

Most color analysis sites either want a photo of your face or want you to trust a number. Tonesy does neither. It asks what you can actually observe about yourself, tells you how sure it is, and shows its reasoning.

Why no photos

Camera white balance shifts skin tone further than the difference between two neighboring seasons. The same phone reads almost anyone as an Autumn in warm indoor light and as a Summer next to a north-facing window. So Tonesy never asks for a photo.

How the test works

Every question moves you along four scales: warm to cool, light to deep, soft to bright, and low to high contrast. The twelve seasons sit at fixed points on the same scales, and the closest one becomes your result. When two seasons are nearly tied, the test says so.

Twelve seasons, twelve palettes

Each season has its own palette: core colors, accents, statement colors and neutrals. The test places you on the same scales the seasons sit on, and your palette follows from where you land.

Where the facts come from

Season palettes follow the twelve-season system used by practitioners, cross-checked across published sources. Color names and hex codes come from the Pantone Fashion, Home and Interiors range. Every Color Wiki article lists its references, and search demand for each topic is taken from real search data, not guesses.

What it is not

An indicator, not a professional draping. A trained analyst holds real fabric against your face in neutral daylight. Treat Tonesy as the free first pass that tells you whether a professional draping is worth it for you.
